Faith Erin Hicks Draws Comic-Con Diary Comix

Comics creator Faith Erin Hicks was one of the featured guests at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con (and was one of the panelists at Thursday’s Making a Living in Manga discussion). She had a pretty busy and fun-filled weekend, and to commemorate the highlights, she drew a special 6-page comic that was featured on Tor.com.

In it, she describes the last time she came to Comic-Con five years prior, and how it set her on the road to where she is today, with several critically-acclaimed graphic novels to her name (Friends With Boys and the recently released Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong, written by Prudence Shen and illustrated by Hicks, both from First Second Books), plus The Last of Us, a graphic novel adaptation of a survival/horror/adventure game for Playstation 3 from Naughty Dog/Sony Computer Entertainment, published by Dark Horse Comics. She also describes meeting Joss Wheldon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and much more. Go read! It’s really fun.

Also worth a read: CBR’s recap of the Faith Erin Hicks spotlight panel, where she was interviewed by one of her heroes, Jeff Smith, creator of Bone.
