Junko Mizuno Q&A and Signing at Kinokuniya SF

Junko Mizuno Q&A and Signing at Kinokuniya SF

This Saturday, August 10 at 3:00 pm, manga artist and illustrator Junko Mizuno will be at the San Francisco branch of Kinokuniya Books for a Q&A and book-signing session. I’ll be asking the questions at the Q&A, so I hope many of you can make it to this event to get your books signed with a little sketch by Junko, and say hi to both of us. This event is being held to celebrate the long-awaited release of Little Fluffy Gigolo Pelu Volume 2 from Last Gasp Books.

The first volume of the English edition of Little Fluffy Gigolo Pelu was released in 2009, and featured the tragi-comic adventures of a little space zygote who desperately wants to find someone to love. On his journey, Pelu meets pretty girls in peril or women suffering in dysfunctional relationships. He helps them out, hoping to win their affections, but in the end, poor Pelu is stuck in that dreaded “friend zone,” and must shuffle off to the next town (and next girl) in hopes that true love lies around the next corner.

Want more Junko Mizuno joy? She’s hard at work creating new artworks for her upcoming shows at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, Southern California in September. Entitled “Rising,” the show opens on September 21, with a reception from 7 – 10 pm. Be there if you can to see her latest works, and maybe add one to your home’s art collection.
