This Weekend in SF: J-Pop Summit Fest

This weekend, San Francisco gets a dose of Japanese pop culture, art, music, movies, and fashion at the J-Pop Summit Festival in Japantown (Post Street between Laguna and Webster) and on Sunday, with a Jpop concert in Union Square on Sunday, with kawaii (cute) & colorful pop star Krary Pyamu Pyamu headlining.

The events kick off on at 11 am on Saturday in Japantown, with the SF premiere of Evangelion 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo at New People Cinema. At 11:45 am, the Vocaloid Dance solo competition will be the featured attraction at the Peace Pavilion stage. Also at JPop Summit: a special pop-up shop event, Harajuku Kawaii! featuring colorful clothing and accessories straight from Harajuku. 6% DokiDoki designer Sebastian Masuda is back for another JPop Summit appearance, and there’s also a Lolita fashion show featuring the latest styles from Baby the Stars Shine Bright on Sunday.
